
Liberatory Living: Protective Interiors and Radical Black Joy
“Woke Women,” “Woke Women II” and “Lazy Sunday” will all be featured as part of the MoAD’s Liberatory Living: Protective Interiors and Radical Black Joy exhibit curated by Key Jo Lee. This exhibit “features design, artworks, and environments dedicated to the global necessity for Black people to cultivate domestic interiors not only as spaces of revolutionary action, but also of radical joy and revolutionary rest.” The exhibit will feature sixteen contemporary designers and artists including all examining how to create and sustain environments and spaces of belonging and safety for Black people.

Juneteenth Celebration by Authentic Craft, LLC & Commune
Under the theme of “Black Western Wonderland,” this three day event aims to celebrate our freedom and highlight the experience and contributions of Black people throughout the history of the US West. The hosts of this space aim incorporate both historic and modern Black cultural elements to create a unique and immersive experience where Black creatives, organizations and community are centered and honored.

Black Womxn Healing Reunion
Chantal joined over 10 other vendors as part of the Black Womxn Healing Reunion event. This space focused on reflections and healing for Black womxn during the COVID-19 pandemic, creating opportunities for Black womxn to express themselves through art and other creative means.

Sanctuary Suite Pop-Up
The Sanctuary Suite at the Kimpton Alton Hotel has undergone a make-over as designed by Blk Girls Greenhouse, where Chantal’s artwork is being featured.

Chantal Hildebrand participated as on of the artists from Oakland exhibiting their artwork as part of A Spectacular Black Girls Art Show in Oakland, an event celebrating Black women artists and artisans in over 20 cities across the U.S.
